- Indeed, we have given you the abundance,
- So pray to your Lord and sacrifice.

3. This word means “cut off” and was used specifically for people without sons/posterity. Muhammad was called this name because his sons died.
Surah Ordering
For some inexplicable reason, the Egyptian chronology puts surah 100 before this–a surah about a violent dawn raid! All the tasfir sources agree that 100 is Medinan, so this is just baffling. I’m skipping it and going on to 102, which fits just fine in the chronology.
